10 things not to miss in Assynt

1. Quinag dominates Assynt, to climb, allow 4/5 hours, or simply drive around, allow around 3 hours, and you may spot eagles

2. Achmelvich, two sparkling beaches close to Lochinver. Spend a day here enjoying clean, sandy beaches.

3. Old man of Stoer, a dramatic sea stack which can be reached from Stoerhead lighthouse, the round trip walk will take around one and a half hours. Or simply sit and watch the sun go down.

4. Birds and wildlife. Eagles, red throated divers, osprays, puffins and many more sea birds. The red deer abound, along with badgers, pine martins and otters. Dolphins and whales can often be seen from Stoerhead lighthouse.

5. Assynt is ideal for sea kayaking.
